Researchers need to find alternative solutions to tackle energy crisis: Foreign Minister
More than 500 researchers from 64 universities and research institutes of 14 countries including Bangladesh are expected to participate.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs urged to maintain international cooperation in research and innovation through mobilization. This is Abdul Momen.
The minister made this comment as the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the 7th international conference organized by the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology at the central auditorium of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet this morning.
At that time, the foreign minister said that industry-academia linkages should be enhanced through state resource mobilization that can help achieve sustainable development goals by maintaining international collaboration and partnerships in engineering research and innovation.

Dr. Momen said that after the global epidemic situation, Bangladesh is also facing energy crisis like other countries. In this context, researchers and experts need to find alternative solutions that can increase industrial productivity. At this time, the foreign minister also said that Bangladesh is the most successful country in achieving the Millennium Development Goals and now we are working tirelessly to achieve the SDGs to make Bangladesh a developed nation by 2041. At the same time, he saluted the engineers, scientists, entrepreneurs and policy makers for making Bangladesh a modern nation by utilizing the innovative power.

The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Shabiprobi Vice-Chancellor Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed and Assistant Professor of IPE Department Syeda Kamrun Nahar and Lecturer of Mechanical Engineering Department. Professor of National University of Singapore was present as special guest under the direction of Siamul Bashar. Mostafizur Rahman and the treasurer of Shabiprabir Professor Dr. Md. Anwarul Islam. 'Civil Engineering, Environment and Architecture', 'Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics', 'Chemical, Food, Petroleum and Mining' to meet the challenges in engineering education in the new millennium, to follow the latest advances in various fields of engineering and technology and to strengthen academia-industry linkages. And 190 articles of researchers from reputed institutions of 14 countries of the world including Bangladesh will be presented on these four subjects of 'Mechanical, Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering'.

The organizers of the conference said that this is the 7th international conference of the Faculty of Applied Science. This conference will continue from today Thursday to Saturday, January 14 in the central auditorium of the university. In this, engineers, gurus and students from the country and abroad will be present with their ideas on innovation and development of education. More than 190 have been selected for this year's conference from among the registrants. These research papers will be presented in 34 technical sessions including 4 plenary sessions in three days.

More than 500 researchers from 64 universities and research institutes of 14 countries including Bangladesh are expected to participate in it. This year's conference is open to university students without registration. Apart from that, the organizers said that more new things have been added from the previous conferences.

The member secretary of the conference organizing committee Prof. Azizul Haque said, "Successful implementation of the fourth industrial revolution, solving the energy and food crisis, organizing against global warming and sustainable development to achieve the Millennium Development Goals, various researchers will discuss the latest advances in global engineering and technology in this international scientific meeting. "It will encourage our young graduates, educators and scientists to engage more in research and higher education. Which is very necessary for national development. This year we have tried to bring industry experts, entrepreneurs and researchers on 1 common platform to understand the real situation of industry and academic linkages in Bangladesh.
