The United States has overtaken Saudi Arabia in terms of expatriate remittance income

Since independence, most remittances have come from Saudi Arabia. This time, the United States has overtaken Saudi Arabia as the top source of expatriate income.

  In the first seven months (July-January) of the current fiscal year 2022-23, expatriates sent 1,245 million 21 million dollars to the country. At this time, the largest number of dollars were sent by expatriates from the United States. Expatriates send 226 million 53 million dollars from the country. And 221 million 78 million dollars came from Saudi Arabia.

• According to the data, in the first month of the current financial year i.e. in July, the expatriates of the United States sent 36 million 33 million dollars. The next month comes in August 35 million 87 million, in September 27 million 77 million, in October 23 million 36 million, in November 30 million 49 million, in December 42 million 82 million and in the recently departed month of January 29 million 87 million dollars. In other words, Bangladeshi expatriates in the country sent a total of 226 million 53 million dollars in seven months.

In the first seven months of the fiscal year (July-January), expatriates sent 168.46 million dollars from Dubai. In addition, UK expatriates sent 1.11 billion and Kuwaiti expatriates sent 90.58 million dollars.

According to the data, in the first month of the current fiscal year 2022-2023, 209 million 63 million dollars came in July, 203 million 69 million dollars came in August. In other words, two billion dollars of remittances came in the first two months of the financial year. After that the remittance flow started to decrease which was around 1.5 billion or so. In the next month, 153 million 96 million dollars came in September, 152 million 55 million dollars in October, 159 million 47 million dollars in November, 169 million 96 million dollars in December and in the month of January, expatriates sent 195 million 88 million dollars.
