Keeping good relations with US and China together is challenging: Foreign Minister

Foreign Minister said, discussed Rohingya crisis, investment and trade with Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang

Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen said that it is challenging to maintain relations with US and China together. But we are doing it well. He said this to reporters at a discussion program organized in the auditorium of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the occasion of Bangabandhu's Homecoming Day on Tuesday morning.

The Foreign Minister said that the Rohingya crisis, investment and trade were discussed with Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang. China is optimistic about Rohingya repatriation. Bangladeshi products were supposed to be given duty-free access to the Chinese market. But Bangladeshi businessmen are not getting that benefit even though it has been violated for a long time. Abdul Momen urged China's foreign minister to make an announcement about this. The issue of China's cooperation in various developmental activities of Bangladesh including the Padma Bridge was discussed.

Apart from this, during the visit of Chinese President Xi Jing Ping to Bangladesh, several financial assistance agreements were signed. But all of them have not yet been implemented. Abdul Momen has spoken to the Foreign Minister of China in this regard. Meanwhile, Chin Gang has invited Bangladesh's foreign minister to visit China. In reply Abdul Momen offered him to visit Bangladesh for such a long period.

First of all, the Chinese Foreign Minister stopped at Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) International Airport. He made this stop on his way to visit five African countries including Ethiopia. The plane carrying the Chin gang landed at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to refuel on its way from Beijing to Africa.

Bangladesh Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen met with China's new Foreign Minister Qin Gang at the VIP lounge of the airport. After the meeting, China's foreign minister left the cover for Africa at 2:50 pm on Tuesday. After the meeting, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen spoke to reporters at the airport. He highlighted the issues of discussion between the two countries.
