3 Mobile companies have to pay Tk 2500 crore

The country's five mobile operator organizations have remitted Tk 2,547,140,000 abroad (to their own country or to genuine companies) till June 2012. The mobile operators are Grameenphone, Banglalink, Robi, Airtel and Pacific Bangladesh or Citycell.
Minister of Posts and Telecommunications Abdul Latif Siddiqui gave this information in response to a question of Jatiya Party's AKM Maidul Islam in Parliament on Tuesday. The minister said that Grameenphone has paid VAT and tax of Tk 3,909 million and Tk 1,403 million respectively till 2013. And the government owes Grameenphone (as of June 2012) 450 crore 82 lakh taka. During this period, the operator has remitted Tk 1,291.1 million.

Until 2013, Banglalink paid VAT and tax of Tk 1,171.3 million and 124 million 44 million respectively. Government's debt to Banglalink (as of June 2012) is Tk 242 crore 42 lakh. During this period they have sent 1 thousand 21 crore 80 lakhs abroad.
Ravi paid VAT and tax of Tk 1,202 crore 88 lakh and Tk 216 crore 49 lakh respectively. Government's debt to Robi (as of June 2012) is Tk 219 crore 10 lakh. During this time, the operator has sent 12 crore 29 lakh taka abroad.

Airtel has paid VAT and tax of Tk 428 crore 95 lakh and Tk 9 crore 55 lakh respectively till 2013. On the other hand, the government owes Airtel (as of June 2012) 21 crores. And during this period, the operator sent 378 crores abroad.
Pacific (CityCell) has paid VAT and tax of Tk 6588 million and Tk 645 million respectively till 2013. On the other hand, the state owes the company (as of June 2012) 279 crore 25 lakh taka. And during this period, the operator has sent 5 crore 95 lakh taka abroad.
State-owned Teletalk has paid Tk 113 crore four lakh VAT and Tk 422 lakh tax. The government owes Tk 966 crore 78 lakh to the operator.
