2 killed, 40 injured in picnic bus accident

Two persons were killed in the picnic bus accident of Bakri Bahumukhi Secondary School in Jessore's Bagharpara upazila. At least 40 people were injured in this incident.

On the way back from Tungipara in Gopalganj after the picnic, the accident happened at Bhatiapara junction in Go Kashiani around 8:30 pm on Thursday (February 9). About 20 people were brought to Jessore General Hospital in five ambulances around 10:30 pm.

The bus met with an accident at Bhatiapara in Kashiani on its way back from Gopalganj at around 8 pm on Thursday. It was initially reported that one of the two deceased was an employee of the school and the other was a parent member. However, the condition of many of the injured is critical.

Jessore 250 bed general hospital supervisor Dr. Aktaruzzaman confirmed the casualty. He said one died on the spot and another died after being brought to the hospital.

Jessore Deputy Commissioner immediately. Tamizul Islam Khan visited the hospital and supervised the treatment.
