Withdrawal of two books of class VI and VII

In the new academic year (2023), teaching of two books will be stopped in classes VI and VII. The National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTNB) has informed that the history and social science subject 'Inquiry Lessons' for class two has been withdrawn from teaching.

On Friday (February 10), NCTB Chairman Prof. This information was informed in a circular signed by Farhadul Islam.

According to the notification, necessary revisions will be made to some chapters of the History and Social Science “Practical Lessons” and Science “Inquiry Lessons” of class VI prepared for these two classes. However, teaching of all other chapters of these books will continue.

The notification also said that the educational institutions will be informed about the amendments of the two books.

On Friday noon in Haimchar Upazila of Chandpur, the Minister of Education spoke about this by participating in a courtyard meeting. Deepu Moni. He said, "We will prepare two new books for the sixth and seventh classes. From now on those two books will be stopped. Two books each on that subject (History and Social Science). One will be closed. No need to read it. There is nothing anti-Islam in the book. Still we listen to people.

The minister said, 'Some say it would have been better if it was not in the book. Some are overwritten. We are saying that next year we will make two new books, one each for class VI and VII. These two classes which are being talked about, will stop reading. There is nothing anti-Islamic in these books. Still we listen to people, if someone is suffering - we value and respect that too.'

Meanwhile, the National Curriculum and Textbook Board will soon issue a notification in this regard.
