The incident took place on Thursday (February 9) at around 2:00 pm in the Moulbhi Bazar area of Jeudhra Union in Morelganj. Later on Friday (February 10) morning, the girl was admitted to Morelganj Upazila Health Complex in bloody condition.
The injured girl is a 8th standard student of a local secondary school. Three fingers of his right hand and below the knee were injured in the stabbing.

In this regard, the girl's father is a farmer of Jiudhara village. Malek Sheikh said that his daughter was alone at home at night. Around 2 o'clock in the night, the neighboring gher businessman Bachchu Mridha sneaked into the house and tried to rape the girl. When the girl screamed and resisted, Bachchu stabbed her and fled. Bachchu Mridha is said to be the former president of Ward No. 5 Sramik League of Jeudhra Union. He is on the run since the incident.
