A Bengali day in BPL
February is the month of great language movement. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has taken a special initiative by organizing Friday's BPL match to pay tribute to language martyrs. On this day, punjabi and sarees with Bengali alphabets are put on the commentators and speak in Bengali words. Apart from this, the players also wear Bangla alphabet 'armband'.

Today is the last day of the preliminary phase of the current season. This match is just to increase the points and maintain the rules as the playoffs of the four teams are confirmed. And BCB has decided to arrange this match with Bengal.
Generally, BPL commentary is in English. Today both the matches will have a touch of Bengali language. There are commentators of Bangladesh, they will give commentary in Bengali. And stars like Sir Curtly Ambrose, Aamir Sohail coming from abroad will use some Bengali words in commentary.

Cricketers will be interviewed in Bengali before the start of the game or during the break. Discussions before and after the match and presentation and interview at the prize distribution ceremony after the match will also be conducted in Bengal. But if a foreign cricketer is man of the match, he will be spoken to naturally in English.
Cricketers of all teams, all game officials, commentators and presenters will wear special armbands with Bengali alphabet. Also some of the language month quotes will be displayed on the big screen in the field.
