We have implemented a project worth Tk 10,000 crore in Rajshahi: Prime Minister

Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina commented that Awami League never runs away. He said this at a public meeting organized by the District Awami League at the madrasa grounds of Rajshahi on Monday.

He said, BNP will fight against corruption. With whom? Referring to Tariq Rahman and Khaleda Zia, he said, Khaleda and Tariq have smuggled money, they are convicted in corruption cases. BNP will fight against corruption with them. Khaleda Zia and Tarek Rahman smuggled 40 crore rupees abroad we have brought back to the country.

At that time, the head of government said, BNP leaders said - Awami League will not get time to escape. I want to say clearly - Awami League never escapes, only your leaders escape. Awami League fights with the people, Awami League is an organization created by the father of the nation.

Sheikh Hasina announced the inauguration of several development projects. He said to those who came to the public meeting, these are given to you as a gift.

Sheikh Hasina said, we work for the people. Think about BNP-Jamaat rule. At that time they regularly tortured the people. Awami League works with the people. When this organization came to power it changed the fate of people. We have reduced the poverty line of Bangladesh to 20 percent.

Highlighting the progress of Rajshahi, the Chief Minister said, 'This Rajshahi has always been neglected. Voted for us in past mayoral elections. He made us win by voting on boat brands in different areas. I thank you and thank you. We inaugurated some projects in this Rajshahi a while back.

In these 14 years from 2009, we have implemented various projects worth Tk 10,660 crores in Rajshahi district and metropolis only. Out of this, we have implemented projects worth Tk 2000 crore in Rajshahi city alone. Some time ago I inaugurated 26 projects worth 1 thousand 333 crore rupees. I laid the foundation stone of 6 projects worth 375 crore rupees. I gave them as a gift for us.'
