All the stations of the first phase of Metrorail have been opened
Metrorail's Uttara Dakshin and Sheorapara stations have been opened. By this, all 9 stations of metro rail from Uttara to Agargaon became operational.
The gates of Uttara Dakshin and Sheorapara stations were opened at 8 am on Friday (March 31) and trains started stopping after 8:30 am.
Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the metro rail on December 28, 2022. On 29 December it began its commercial journey to the general public. At that time Metrorail was running only between Uttara Uttar station and Agargaon station.
Later, Metrorail Pallabi station on January 25, Uttara Center station on February 18, Mirpur-10 station on March 1, Kazipara and Mirpur 11 on March 15 and lastly Uttara Dakshin and Sheorapara stations were opened today.
Initially, the Metrorail ran from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, but from January 25, the Metro Rail was operated from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. This electric high-speed state vehicle will transport passengers from April 5 till 2 pm.
The fare from Uttara North Station to Uttara South and Sheorapara stations is Tk 20 and Tk 40 respectively. On the other hand, the fare from Agargaon to Uttara Dakshin and Sheorapara stations is Tk 40 and Tk 20 respectively.
