In the second phase of the World Ijtema, worshipers joined the Ijtema on the Turag shore of Tongir on Friday for Friday prayers. After 12 noon, pilgrims started coming from different parts of the state including Dhaka, Gazipur. Pilgrims come to Ijtema to ask Allah for forgiveness of their sins and ask for guidance to follow the right path. Many worshipers said that they are interested in Ijtema because of the teachers of Tabligh Jamaat. They hope that Almighty Allah will show the path of religion to all the Muslims of the world by ending all differences. The second phase of Biswa Ijtema will be completed with the last prayer on Sunday.
The 1st phase of Vishwa Ijtema started last Friday (January 13) on the Turag shores of Tongir, Gazipur and concluded well and peacefully with the final prayers on January 15. The second phase of World Ijtema started on Friday after a break of four days. The World Ijtema will conclude tomorrow Sunday with the last prayer. The 2nd phase will be led by the followers of Adi Tabligh Jamaat's New Delhi-based Murribi Maulana Saad Panthi group. Immediately after taking over the ground from the administration, worshipers from different parts of the country started coming to the Ijtema ground. They have taken a position in Maidan specific Khita. Although the preliminary Am Bayan starts for the worshipers two days in advance, the actual phase of Ijtema begins after Fajr on Friday (January 20). The Ijtema Maidan was filled to the brim. Pilgrims from different districts come to Maidan by bus, truck, pickup, train and sea. After the 55th World Ijtema was held in 2020, Ijtema was not held in the last two years in 2021 and 2022 due to the Corona epidemic.
