After the meeting, CEC said, the meeting has decided to announce the schedule. As a result, the commission meeting has been called on Wednesday morning. In response to a question, Kazi Habibul Awal said that the six vacant seats will not be an obstacle for the presidential election.

Although other election commissioners were not present in the meeting at the office of the Parliament, Election Commission Secretary Md. Jahangir Alam participated. They met in the meeting ahead of the announcement of the schedule for the 22nd presidential election of the country.

Earlier, the EC Secretary said that the presidential election will be held between January 23 and February 23. The process has already started in this regard. We have received time from the Parliament Secretariat regarding the presidential election.

According to the Presidential Election Act and Rules, if there is more than one candidate, the name of the preferred candidate and his/her signature must be submitted on the prescribed ballot paper in front of the election officer in the session room of the Parliament. Voters have to collect the ballot paper by signing its envelope. After voting, it should be deposited in one or more ballot boxes installed in the Parliament House.

Each Member of Parliament shall have only one vote. As a Member of Parliament, the Speaker is also a voter in this election. The election officer will control the access of all except the candidates, voters, voting assistants to the parliament hall including the gallery on the polling day. At the end of the voting, the election commissioner will publicly count the votes. The person with the highest number of votes will be declared President-elect. And in case of equal votes, the result will be decided by lottery among the candidates.
