The Prime Minister of Pakistan wanted to have a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking peace between India and Pakistan.
Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for "serious and genuine discussions" with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on important issues like Kashmir. "Pakistan has learned its lessons after three wars with India," Sharif said in an interview with a Dubai-based news outlet.
He emphatically stated that his country wanted peace with its neighbour. After this, in a message to Modi, he said, “My message to the Indian leadership and Prime Minister Modi is that let us sit at one table and have an important and clean discussion to resolve our important issue like Kashmir. It is up to us to live peacefully and prosper or to quarrel with each other and it is a waste of time and resources.”

Pakistan Prime Minister said that we have had three wars with India and it has only brought such misery, poverty and unemployment to the people. Addressing reporters on Monday (January 16), the Pakistani Prime Minister said, "We have learned our lessons and we want to be comfortable with India if we are able to resolve our core issues."
He further said, “India is our neighboring country, we are neighbours. Let us be very gentle, even though we are not the preferred neighbors, we are there forever and it is up to us to live and develop peacefully or to do with each other and waste time, resources. It's up to us." Shehbaz Sharif also highlighted the issue of Kashmir and said, "Pakistan wants peace but what happened in Kashmir should be stopped."

In the video of the interview shared on Twitter, the Pakistani Prime Minister was also heard saying, “Both countries have engineers, doctors and skilled workers. We need to use these resources for prosperity and bring peace to the region so that both nations can prosper."
