The Israeli military said it carried out airstrikes in the area of Hamas' rocket and weapons production facilities.

Hamas spokesman Qassem said, "Our al-Qassam Brigades bravely resisted the occupation's aggression and its bombardment." He said the rocket attacks were in response to attacks on the occupied West Bank and the treatment of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons.
