- EC Anichur Rahman said, "We have spoken to the field administration. I have asked the DC, SP and District Election Officer to investigate and submit a report. I asked for the report of what happened. They said the person's whereabouts were identified once, but then disappeared because the phone was switched off. All agencies are continuing their efforts. We watched a video. It seems that such a plan was already made and it happened. The whole will be known if I find it.

By-elections will be held next Wednesday in 6 seats left vacant due to the resignation of BNP parliamentarians. Even a day before the polls, the candidate for Brahmanbaria-2 (Sarail and Ashuganj) constituency, Abu Asif Ahmed, cannot be found. He is missing.
The family members say that they have not been able to contact him since Friday night. BNP breakaway leader Ukil Abdus Sattar Bhuiyan's main challenger is independent candidate Abu Asif Ahmed, expelled from
BNP.
- The Election Commission declared valid the nomination papers of eight out of 13 candidates to fight in the by-election of Brahmanbaria-2 (Ashuganj-Sarail) constituency to be held on February 1. Four of them withdrew their candidature.
The remaining four in the contest are former BNP leader Abdus Sattar, Jatiya Party's Abdul Hamid Bhashani, Zaker Party candidate Zahirul Islam and independent Abu Asif Ahmed.

- Abdus Sattar is all the talk around this by-election. He won the 11th National Assembly election from this seat on the nomination of BNP. Recently, he resigned from the parliament on the decision of the party.
Brahmanbaria Superintendent of Police (SP) said in this regard. Shakhawat Hossain told Daily Bangla, "We cannot say anything about Abu Asif's disappearance yet." Search is in progress. However, no complaint has been filed yet from his house.
In response to a question regarding the leak of the phone conversation, he said, "I have come to know about the audio clip." An investigation is underway regarding the authenticity of that.
