Hanging body of woman NGO worker recovered in Cox's Bazar

Police recovered the hanging body of a woman NGO worker from a rented house in Cox's Bazar city.

The body of the woman named Nishat Ahmed (25) was recovered from West Baharchhara area around 11:30 pm on Thursday (February 2). He was working as a security guard in an international NGO.

He said the body has been sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy.

Nishat was killed

• The deceased Nishat lived in the house of Gafur Saudagar in West Baharchhara area of the city. His village home is in Dulahajara of Chakaria. He was working as a security guard in an international NGO.

Gafur Saudagar, the owner of the house, said, "My daughters went to Nishat's room on the second floor of the house around 9:30 on Thursday night. As always, the door to his room was jammed. It opens with a push. At that time my daughters saw his hanging body. Then 999 is called.

Rafiqul Islam, OC of Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Police Station, said that the police went to the spot after receiving the information at around 9:30 pm. Police are still at the scene. However, no details are known yet.
