Russia has started taking 'big revenge': Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that Russia has begun taking "big revenge" for Ukraine's resistance to Russian aggression. He made these comments amid recent advances in eastern Ukraine by Russian forces.

• Moscow is aiming to step up its offensive on Ukraine after nearly two months of stalemate along front lines stretching across the south and east, world media reported Tuesday, and Zelensky has been warning for weeks.
  While there were no signs of a major new offensive on Monday, Denis Pushilin, the administrator of the Russian-controlled parts of Ukraine's eastern Donetsk province, said Russian troops had strengthened their grip on the town of Vuhledar, the media reported. The coal-mining town had served as a Ukrainian base since the start of the war.

According to Zelensky, despite the heavy losses Russia suffered in the war, the Russian offensive in the east continues unabated. "I think Russia really wants to take a big revenge," he said. I think they have (already) started it.'

"Every day they either bring their regular troops, or we see an increase in the number of Wagnerites," he told reporters in the southern Ukrainian port city of Odessa.
