The law and order forces are on high alert throughout the capital since the mass location programs of like-minded alliances and parties including BNP. On the other hand, the ruling Awami League said to be on 'alert position' on Wednesday (January 11) in front of the party's central office in Nayapaltan, the friendly parties will hold a mass sit-in program at a total of eight spots in the city, including BNP's position.

Meanwhile, the ruling Awami League and its sister-fraternal organizations have announced plans for major rallies in five different places. The common people are worried about the counter-programme of the anti-government and ruling party. However, both sides have announced a 'peaceful programme'. On Tuesday night, BNP Vice Chairman A Z M Zahid Hossain said that the DMP has given permission for mass sit-in program in Nayapaltan from 10 am to 2 pm on the condition of not causing public suffering. However, DMP Commissioner Khandaker Farooq said that if there is a disruption in the traffic on the road, the responsibility will be taken.

According to the BNP, Wednesday's mass sit-in program will be held in 10 organizational divisional cities of the country including Dhaka for 10-point demands including the resignation of the ruling government and elections under the government. The activists will participate in this program centrally in front of Nayapaltan office in the capital from 10 am to 2 pm. BNP will also hold programs in other departments from 11 am to 3 pm. Apart from this, as part of the simultaneous movement, around 52 other groups and organizations will hold this program separately at seven places in the capital.

However, Awami League has also brought forward the program of observing Bangabandhu's Homecoming Day as an issue, apart from dealing with BNP's mass sit-in program. On these two issues, the ruling party has announced relaxation meetings and discussion meetings at five places in the capital. Awami League's position: Awami League leaders and activists will be marching in every ward of the capital from morning and will be on 'vigilant guard'.

As soon as the threat of sabotage is ready, the administration and law enforcement forces will also try to counter it. Awami League has already made huge efforts to gather people in the two rallies that have been announced. Similar plans have been taken up by Jubo League and other fraternal organizations including Chhatra League.

It has been reported that the Bangladesh Awami Jubo League will hold two rallies in the capital in an attempt by Dhakna Mahanagar north-south branch. The organization will hold this rally at the central Shaheed Minar at 12 noon on the initiative of the South and at Farmgate area on the initiative of the North at 11 am. Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak, presidium member of Awami League, joint general editor A. F. M. Bahauddin Nashim, organizing secretary Mirza Azam, office secretary barrister Biplab Barua, Jubo League chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash and general secretary Md. Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil.

Bangladesh Chhatra League will hold a stand program against BNP-Jamaat anarchy, arson and anti-constitutional inaction. Under the leadership of president Saddam Hossain and general secretary Sheikh Wali Asif Inan, the organization will hold a sit-in program at Shahbagh square in the capital at 11 am. Bangladesh Krishak League will hold a sit-in program in front of the central office to protest the mass sit-in program of BNP. Under the leadership of organization president Sameer Chand and general secretary Umm Kulsoom Smriti, the sit-in program will be held from 11 am to evening. Leaders and workers of Central and Metropolitan North-South Farmers League will be present in it.

Awami League's big location association will be in front of the party's central office on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital. There, the ruling party will hold a sit-in session led by central and metropolitan leaders from morning to afternoon. At 10:30 in the morning there will be a big showdown through the discussion meeting of Bangabandhu's Homecoming Day. Dhaka Metropolitan Response Awami League's banner against the BNP-Jamaat anarchy will be held by the Shanti Samiti at 3 pm at Mirpur No. 1 Eidgah ground. Central leaders of the party including Awami League common secretary Obaidul Quader will attend both the programs.

Although the official program is not accepted, Awami Swachhasebak League will show its organizational strength by attending the program of the city North-South Awami League. Apart from this, the leaders and activists of Mahila Awami League, Jubo Mahila League, Matsyajivi League and all the affiliates and fraternal organizations of Awami League will hold a sit-in program in the emergency places of the city to protest the mass sit-in program of BNP.

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said in a party forum on Tuesday that the Awami League under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina is much more integrated than ever before. Awami League is ready to give a befitting response to any domestic or foreign conspiracy and violence in the name of movement. Meanwhile, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said in a discussion meeting on Bangabandhu's Homecoming Day at the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Headquarters that even if there is no obstacle in the political program, public suffering will not be tolerated in the name of public position.
