The National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) has admitted errors in the textbooks for the academic year 2023. This year, NCTB admitted a total of nine mistakes in three subjects and gave corrections

Recently, a notification signed by Santosh Kumar Dhali, Chief Editor of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board, took notice of such a picture. It has been seen that NCTB has identified three faults in the Bangladesh History and World Civilization book of class 9-10. It is written on the 181 pages of the book - From March 26, 1971 to December 16, 1971, torture, massacre and destruction by Pakistan military forces took place throughout Bangladesh.

But the real information will be that from March 25, 1971 to December 16, Pakistan military forces engaged in torture, genocide and destruction throughout Bangladesh.

On the 200th page of the book, it is written - On January 12, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman took the pledge as Prime Minister to Chief Justice Abu Sadat Mohammad Sayem. But the real facts will be - On January 12, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman took oath as Prime Minister to President Abu Saeed Chowdhury.

On page 202 of the book, after the first paragraph of the background section on Constitution making, 1972, the authentic information will be added. After the first paragraph of the background section of the Constitution Act 1972 there shall be added-

The ideological position of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was reflected in the drafting of the constitution. Bangabandhu had all-round guidance in framing the constitution. He directed the Constitution Committee on various substantive issues. Besides, on page 203 of the book, it has been written in Panchambhaga Jatiya Sangsad, but the correct information is 'Panchambhaga Einsabha' in the 6th line.

Meanwhile, it has been written on page 6 of Bangladesh and World Introduction book of 9th-10th class that United Front was formed with 4 teams in 1954 election. The four teams are Awami League, Krishak Sramik Party, Nezam Islam and the Democratic Party. However, the authentic information is that the United Front was formed with 5 teams in the 1954 elections. Name five parties – Awami League, Krishak Sramik Party, Nezam Islam, Demokrati Dal and Pakistan Khilafat Rabbani Party.

Rajarbagh Police Camp and Pilkhana EPR Camp of Dhaka have been written on page 16 of the book, however the revised information will be Rajarbagh Police Lines and Pilkhana EPR Headquarters.

Meanwhile, on page 28 of the book, it is noticed that the best feature of the Constitution is the preservation of fundamental rights of common people. However, the main feature of this constitution is to preserve the human rights of the common people.

On page 57 of Class 9-10 Civics and Citizenship book, 'Powers and Functions of the President in Section 1 shall be replaced by... 'The President is the head of the country. All administrative functions of the government are conducted in his name. He conducts his work according to the advice of the Prime Minister in the discharge of all his duties except in the area of appointment of the Prime Minister and Chief Justice. He appoints Ministers, Ministers of State and Deputy Ministers. The President is also responsible for appointing top officials of the state (Accountant-General, Ambassadors and other high-ranking officials). The overall command of the defense departments is vested in the President. He appoints the heads of the three forces (Army, Air Force and Navy).

Besides, at page No. 59 of the book the paragraph 'Powers and Functions of the Prime Minister-I Order shall be substituted... 'The Prime Minister is the Head of the Cabinet. The executive power of the Republic is exercised under the authority of the Prime Minister as per the Constitution. He determines the number of cabinet members and distributes offices among the ministers. He can recommend the removal of any minister from his post.

Chairman of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) in this regard. Farhadul Islam told Dhakna Post that our experts restore the books very carefully. But still some unexpected mistakes can happen. We will detect errors and send corrections to all schools promptly.
