The police of Cox's Bazar Sadar police station arrested more than 700 Rohingyas on the way to Jagat Ijtema from Cox's Bazar to be held at Tongi in Gazipur. Later, these Rohingyas were sent back to the camp by the concerned organization. They sneaked out of various Rohingya camps in Ukhia and Teknaf and got into the car in Cox's Bazar city.

Cox's Bazar Sadar Upazila OC Mohammad Rafiqul Islam confirmed the truth of the incident. He said that the Rohingya vehicles were seized and everyone was detained in the main road area adjacent to the village of Kalatali on the bypass road. Later, after contacting the office of the Commissioner for Refugee Relief and Repatriation, these Rohingyas were sent back to Anaro camp.

The OC of Sadar Model Police Station said that Rohingyas from various camps in Ukhia and Teknaf are going to Gazipur by bus for Jagat Ijtema - after receiving such news, 19 buses carrying Rohingyas were seized from the area adjacent to Baitun Noor Aman Jame Mosque in Cox's Bazar Adarsh village area.

According to the bus drivers, the police also said that the Rohingyas were going to Biswa Ijtema from various camps by renting a bus. For this they were gathered in the premises of Baitun Noor Aman Jame Masjid of Adarsh village. In the afternoon, the refugee relief and repatriation commissioner was contacted and the detained Rohingyas were sent back to the camp.
