Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has ordered to consider jute as an agricultural product to provide facilities like agricultural products in obtaining loans and exporting products. As a result, jute will be treated as an agricultural product from now on.

In the cabinet meeting held on Monday (January 9) chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, instructions were given to consider jute as an agricultural product. The meeting was held at the Prime Minister's office. Later in the afternoon in the conference room of the Cabinet Division of the Secretariat, the Secretary of the Cabinet of Journalists. Mahbub Hossain informed this information.

He said that the use of jute products and jute fiber has increased a lot in the current domestic and international context. Besides, many possibilities are created here. In order to implement this, the Prime Minister has directed that jute should be considered as an agricultural product from now on. So far it was not an agricultural product.

For a long time there have been recommendations and demands from various individuals and organizations to consider jute as an agricultural product. Today the Prime Minister has decided that it will be considered as an agricultural product. Besides, according to that, the jute sector will get all the benefits of agriculture.

Then what kind of product was jute considered for such a long time - the cabinet secretary said that the process of jute production was used as an industrial product in many cases. The prime minister has given these instructions so that more encouragement can be given to jute production.

When asked how farmers and the jute sector will benefit if jute is an agricultural product, he said, in this case, jute farmers will get loans like agricultural loans. You will get all the facilities of the export sector. The Prime Minister today strongly asked for its implementation.
