On the occasion of 'Bangla New Year 1430' celebration on April 14, comprehensive programs have been taken at the national level.
The program was announced in a notification sent by the ministry on Monday (April 10).
The program includes - Dhaka University (DU) Faculty of Fine Arts will organize 'Mangal Shobhayatra' and cultural programs. At the root of Ramna is the cultural program organized by Chayanot. DU's Department of Theater and Performance Studies will celebrate the day with various events throughout the day. Other cultural organizations including Rishi Art Group will celebrate Bengali New Year with due dignity. The Bengali New Year program will begin with the performance of the National Anthem and Eso Hey Boishakh song.
Highlighting the significance of Bangla New Year and the history of Mangal Shobhayatra, on this day, under the initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Bangla Academy, articles will be published in various national newspapers and Boishakhi Shobhayatra will be organized in all the districts, upazilas and unions of the country.
The local administration will organize essay competitions, cultural programs and folk fairs. Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy will organize a grand program throughout the day. Bangla Academy and Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSIC) will organize New Year fairs, discussions and cultural programs at Bangla Academy premises and Bangladesh Folk and Crafts Foundation at its premises.
Bangladesh Children's Academy, Directorate of Public Libraries, Directorate of Archives and Libraries, Bangladesh National Museum, Kabi Nazrul Institute, Copyright Office and National Library Center will organize various programs including discussion meetings, exhibitions, quizzes, writing and painting competitions. Minority Cultural Institutes/Academies will organize programs under their own management.
On this day, high-quality traditional Bengali food and Iftar will be organized in all prisons, hospitals and children's families (orphanages). Cultural programs will be organized with the children of the children's families and performed by the inmates and an exhibition of various products made by the inmates will be arranged. Museums and museums will be open to all. Children, adolescents, students, disabled and children with special needs will have the opportunity to enter without tickets. There will be a special exhibition on the history and traditions of Bengali New Year in the museum.
The fact sheet also informed that the Bengali New Year will be celebrated in a festive atmosphere and proper pomp in all the educational institutions under their own management. A Baisakhi rally will be organized on New Year's morning with the participation of students. Bangladesh missions abroad will organize special programs on this occasion.
Elite hotels and clubs will host special events and traditional Bengali food/iftar. On the occasion of 'Bangla New Year 1430' celebration, required number of medical service centers will be established around Suhrawardy Udyan through health care department, supply of clean drinking water by Dhaka Wasa and required number of mobile toilets will be established through Dhaka South City Corporation.
It also said that all public and private TV, Bangladesh Betar, FM and Community Radio will take arrangements to broadcast Bangla New Year programs. Arrangements will be made to publish and promote special programs/editorials/articles etc. on Bengali New Year on self-initiative in electronic and print media.
Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Betar and private channels will telecast live the cultural program organized by Ramna Botmule Chayanot. Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will issue necessary instructions regarding the broadcasting of Bengali New Year program. Besides, necessary measures will be taken to prevent false propaganda about Bengali New Year in social media and various religious institutions.
During the celebration of 'Bangla New Year 1430', law and order forces will take extensive security measures across the country.
On the occasion of the New Year, an inter-ministerial meeting was held in the meeting room of the Ministry under the chairmanship of State Minister for Culture KM Khalid on March 20. These programs are finalized according to the decision of the meeting.
