In Chapainawabganj polling station was chased, cocktails were recovered

Voting in the Chapainawabganj-3 (Sadar) seat by-election started on Wednesday (February 1) from 8:30 am. However, some time after the start of polling, there was a chase between the workers and supporters of the apple symbol independent candidate Samiul Haque Liton and the boat candidate Abdul Odud in center number 27 of the district town.

On Wednesday morning, activists and supporters of two candidates clashed in Nawabganj Adarsh High School. Later, additional police reached the spot and brought the situation under control.

• Polling did not start at the center at that time due to a fault in the EMM. The presiding officer said that polling started shortly after that.
  Apple symbol candidate Samuel Haque Litton has cast his vote in this centre. After voting, when asked by journalists about this, he complained and said that there was an incident of attack on his workers-supporters during the polling. But Abdul Odud, the candidate for the boat symbol, has not received any statement on this matter.

Presiding officer Shahiduzzaman said that before the start of voting in the morning, there was a fight between the supporters of apple symbol candidate Samiul Hall Liton and boat symbol candidate Abdul Odud. Later, additional police reached the spot and brought the situation under control.

However, no one was reported injured in the incident. Polling did not start at the center at that time due to EVM malfunction. The presiding officer said that polling started shortly after that.
