A court in the Central Asian country of Iran sentenced a loving couple to 10 years in prison. They have been punished so severely for dancing in public on the streets and posting videos of it on social media.
The British media BBC reported this information in a report on Wednesday (February 1).
Amir-Haqiki has reportedly been charged with corruption, encouraging sex workers and conspiring to undermine national security and negative propaganda against the government. For this they have to serve a total of 10 and a half years in prison.

In the released video, they are seen dancing hugging each other in front of the Azadi Tower in the capital Tehran.
Law enforcement forces raided the house of the convicted young woman Haqiqi before arresting her. If the punishment of this loving couple is upheld in the high court, they will have to spend around 10 years in jail. In addition, the local Iranian media reported that the couple has been banned from using social media for two years. They are also banned from leaving the country.
