Jatiya Party's mayoral candidate Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa got into trouble while voting in the Rangpur City Corporation election due to an error in the EVM. Mustafa went to vote at Alamnagar College Road Rashtriya Primary Vidyalaya Center of Ward No. 21 of the city on Tuesday at 9 am. However, he entered the polling booth and got into trouble. The former mayor came out after ten minutes in the polling booth and expressed his displeasure.

Mustafa said, we were worried about this EVM earlier. At last it was true. The EVM malfunctioned while voting. The matter is referred to the Returning Officer. They called the technician and informed about the repair.
This mayoral candidate of Jatiya Party cast his vote when the EVM was repaired 30 minutes after the EVM malfunction. After voting, Mustafa said, "I am 100% optimistic about winning." He also said, "In the last term, the person from Rangpur made me win by a wide margin of votes." In the assessment of the development of Rangpur in these five years, I hope to win this time with a large vote. '

Voting has started from 8:30 am today and will continue till 4:30 pm. Although the ruling Awami League and Jatiya Samabet Yantra Sangeet participated in this year's Rasik election, BNP did not field any candidate for the post of mayor. Besides, the party did not support any candidate. There are a total of 260 candidates in this election. There are 9 mayors and 183 councilors. Apart from this, 68 people will contest for the post of reserved councillors.

Among the mayoral candidates are Advocate Hosne Ara Lutfa Dalia of Awami League, Mustafizur Rahman Mostafa of Jatiya Party, Shafiar Rahman of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSAD-INU), Amiruzzaman Piyal of Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Tauhidur Rahman Mandal Raju of Khilafat Majlish, Khorshed Alam Khokon of Zaker Party, Bangladesh. Abu Raihan of Congress and independent candidates Mehdi Hasan Boni and Latifur Rahman Milon.
