Russia is ready to negotiate with all parties involved in the war in Ukraine. Despite this, Kiev and its Western backers have refused to participate in the talks. The president of the country, Vladimir Putin, said these things in an interview given to Russian state-owned television on the occasion of Christmas on Sunday.
Russia's invasion of Ukraine on February 24 this year triggered the deadliest conflict in Europe since World War II. The Russian attack sparked the biggest conflict between Moscow and the West since the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.
So far, there are no signs of an end to the war. The Kremlin has said fighting will continue until Moscow-style goals are achieved in Kiev. On the other hand, Kyiv has said that Ukraine will continue to fight until Russian troops are expelled from the territory of Ukraine occupied in the ongoing war, including the 2014 Crimea.
In an interview broadcast on Russian state television channel Rossiya-1 on Sunday, Putin said, "We are ready to discuss with everyone involved in the war in Ukraine for an acceptable solution." But it is entirely up to them. We are not ruling out talks, they are.'
In an interview published this month, William Burns, director of the US foreign intelligence agency CIA, said that most conflicts are resolved through negotiations. But he highlighted the CIA's assessment that Russia was not yet "serious" about a real negotiation to end the war.

Putin says Russia is working 'in the right direction' in Ukraine. Because the West, led by the United States, tried to break Russia. Washington, however, has denied the allegations of a conspiracy to disintegrate Russia.
He said, 'I am confident that we are working in the right direction. We are protecting our national interests, our citizens, our people. And we have no choice but to protect Russian citizens.
Asked if the geopolitical conflict with the West had reached a dangerous level, Putin said, "I don't think it has reached such a dangerous level."
The Russian president said the West started the fight in Ukraine by ousting a pro-Russian president in protest against the Maidan revolution in 2014. Soon after that revolution, Russia seized Crimea from Ukraine, and Russian-backed separatist forces began fighting Kiev's armed forces in eastern Ukraine.
Putin said, 'In fact, the key here is the policy of our geopolitical adversaries; Which aims to destroy Russia, historical Russia.
Last February, President Vladimir Putin ordered Russian troops to launch "special military operations" in Ukraine. Following his order, thousands of Russian troops began military operations in Ukraine. Putin said that the West has been trying to destroy Russia since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. However, Moscow stands against the Western bloc on the Ukraine issue.
Ukraine and its Western allies say there is no justification for Putin's invasion of Ukraine as a fight for imperialist occupation. Because this war is causing suffering and death across Ukraine.
Putin described Russia as a "unique country" and said the vast majority of Russians wanted to protect the motherland. He said, '99.9 percent of our citizens, who are ready to give everything for the sake of the motherland, are the main ones here. There is nothing surprising to me here.
"And it reawakened my belief that Russia is a 'unique country' and we have extraordinary people." This has been confirmed throughout the history of Russia's existence.''
