86 constituencies are at stake in the Rangpur City Corporation elections, which have been identified as important by the administration. A city police official confirmed the matter.
The official said that out of 229 centers in 33 wards of Rangpur City Corporation, there are 37 in Kotwali police station, eight in Tajhat upazila, nine in Mahiganj upazila, nine in Haragach police station, 13 in Parashuram upazila and 10 in Hazirhat upazila.

When asked why these centers are at risk, an election-related officer who did not want to be named said that there are more voters in these centers. There is no border wall in the centre. There have been fights in the past in the base area. So they are being declared as risky or important.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission is in a strict position to conduct fair and acceptable elections. Three levels of security measures have been taken in Rangpur city areas.
There will be 11 platoons of BGB, 17 platoons of RAB and 33 platoons of police in the city from Sunday night. There will be 33 executive magistrates and 16 judicial magistrates in the field.
Rangpur City Election Returning Officer Abdul Baten said, 'All arrangements have been made for a fair election. We are keen to avoid any untoward incident. Hope to be able to give 1 acceptable election award.
