A university student died after being hit by a bus in Jatrabari
He lost control of his motorcycle after being hit by a speeding Asian bus at Jatrabari in the capital. A university student named Omar Farooq Palak (20) was killed. In this incident, one of his friends named Jewel Rana (21) was seriously injured. They are BBA first year students of Bangladesh Islamic University.
The accident took place on Thursday (February 23) around 9:30 am in Jatrabari's Kajala broken bridge area. The deceased Omar Farooq was driving a motorcycle. Meanwhile, Jewel Rana was also with him on the motorcycle.
Later, when they were rescued and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College (DMH) hospital, the doctor on duty, Omar Farooq Palak, declared him dead at 10.30 am.
Bachchu Mia, in-charge inspector of DMK Hospital police camp, confirmed the matter.
He said that two injured students were brought to Dhaka Medical after being hit by a bus in Jatrabari's Kajla area. One of them was declared dead by the doctor. Another injured student is undergoing treatment in the emergency department.
Jamshed Alam, uncle of deceased Omar Farooq, said that Farooq used to study from his house. Palak and Jewel Rana are BBA first year students of Islamic University of Demra. They were seriously injured when they were hit by an Asian bus in Kajla area of Jatrabari while they were riding a motorcycle.
Later, they were rescued and taken to the emergency department of DMK Hospital. After the examination, the doctor on duty declared Palak dead. Jewel Runner is undergoing treatment in the emergency department.
