Democracy-human rights in all areas of the country, nothing to teach: Foreign Minister

On Friday (January 13), at the end of a program at the Bangla Academy Auditorium, US Assistant Secretary of State (Asia Region) Donald Lu's visit to Bangladesh will discuss democracy and human rights. Momen commented.

He said, there is nothing to teach Bangladesh in these matters (democracy-human rights). Because it is our brain. Democracy and human rights are in our hearts, everywhere. No one needs to recommend for democracy and justice. But if anyone has any suggestion, we will listen to it. I will check whether it is good for our country or not. If it is good, I will accept it.

Referring to the good friendship between Bangladesh and the United States, the foreign minister said, America is our friend country. Assistant Secretary of State Donald Lu is visiting us here. We will discuss democracy and human rights as well as other issues with him. If they give any constructive suggestion, we will accept it. We believe in a balanced foreign policy.

Meanwhile, Abdul Momen also said that Bangladesh does not have much objection to join the US-led Indo-Pacific Alliance. He said that Bangladesh has no objection to join this alliance. We are studying it. If we benefit from joining the Indo-Pacific Economic Forum, we will join.

Earlier, Rajshahi University professor Atful High Shibli unveiled the cover of Dr. Abdul Momen.
