Should not go to any other post after retirement from the office of President

He said, 'everyone should have a dignity of this post. I believe that after becoming the President of the country, no matter how tempting it is, it is not right to go there under any circumstances. If this is done, the people of the country will be humiliated. Shall be disgraced.'

The honor of the people of Bangladesh is undermined, he also promised not to do such work after retirement.

President Abdul Hamid said these things at a dinner in honor of journalists at Bangabhaban on Sunday. He indicated staying at Nikunj's house after retirement. 

In his speech, the outgoing president said, 'There is also such a thing in our country, after becoming the president, it was seen that he became a minister again. Again, after becoming a minister from the president, he is only doing MPGiri. It was seen that someone stood as the chairman of the upazila parishad without getting nominated in the MP election. Had Hayat, he would have stood as chairman of the Union Parishad. It shouldn't be. No matter what condition I go to, I will not go to any work that will undermine the honor of the people of this country.'

He said, 'everyone should have a dignity of this post. It is not right to do anything else out of here. I believe it is not right to go there after becoming the President of the country no matter how tempting it is. If this is done it will be an insult to the people of the country. Shall be disgraced.'

The President also gave some examples of recently published autobiographical books. At this time, he also brought up the topic of a chapter written about his wife. Pointing out that his wife has claimed that part of the book is not completely true, he said, 'My wife has claimed that everything I have written about my marriage in the book is not true. And said I did not write some words.' 

Abdul Hamid invited journalists to his home during his leisure time and said, "I will have a good time if someone comes sometimes." And like now, there won't be that barrier to come and go. It will be completely free. There will be no problem. But there will be a problem if everyone doesn't come at once, 4/5 people come.

At the beginning of the speech, President Abdul Hamid said, "It is true that I gave a speech during politics, but after becoming the president, I have to give a written speech." The term of the President is 10 years. Only 42 days left for 10 years. After 42 days I will complete 10 years. Before that, first I am the acting president. After the death of former President Zillur Rahman, I was acting President for 40 days.

He said, I have been involved in politics since class nine. I did Chhatra League in 1961 when I was nineteen. I became a leader after passing matric. I have an old relationship with journalist friends since the beginning of politics. The journalist brothers have contributed a lot to the reputation I have gained in politics. The way I could talk to you in the state of parliament, I have not talked like that in 10 years. But after the end of the presidency, I will not have this problem.
