Shamsuzzaman from Kashimpur again in central jail
Prothom Alo Savar's own reporter Shamsuzzaman, who was arrested in Ramna Model Police Station of the capital in a Digital Security Act case, is being taken from Kashimpur Central Jail in Gazipur to Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj.
Kashimpur Central Jail-1 Senior Jail Superintendent Shahjahan Ahmed confirmed that he was sent in a prison van around 10:30 am on Saturday (April 1). Earlier, journalist Shamsuzzaman was brought from Keraniganj to Kashimpur Central Jail around 1.30 pm on Friday.
Senior Jail Superintendent of Kashimpur Central Jail-1 Shahjahan Ahmed told the media that journalist Shamsuzzaman was brought to Kashimpur Central Jail from Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj on Friday around 1.30 pm. He was in Kashimpur Central Jail-1 at night. At 10:30 am on Saturday, he is again being sent from Kashimpur Central Jail-1 to Dhaka Central Jail located in Keraniganj.
He was sent to that jail again on the orders of the higher authorities, he said.
It should be noted that there was a huge reaction in the media and social media in the context of inconsistency in the caption and the photo of a child published online by Prothom Alo on March 26 Independence Day. In this incident, Shamsuzzaman was arrested from Ashulia's house at around 4 am on Wednesday (March 29). Apart from this, Prothom Alo editor Matiur Rahman, its own reporter Shamsuzzaman and associate cameramen were also accused.
