Mustafiz left the country to play IPL while Shakib-Liton waited
The most prestigious franchise tournament in the world is the Indian Premier League (IPL). This time in the 16th edition of the IPL, Bangladeshi cricketers got three teams. Along with Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman, Liton Das got a chance for the first time. Shakib-Litton will play for Kolkata Knight Riders and Fizz will play for Delhi Capitals.
The 16th season of IPL started yesterday (March 31). However, Bangladesh cricketers are not able to join the team since the start of the IPL due to the Ireland series at home. But because he is not in the Test contract, the cutter master Phiz left the country today to play in the IPL.
Mustafiz's team Delhi Capitals will take on the Lucknow Super Giants at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekna Cricket Stadium on Saturday (April 1) at 8 pm. Keeping this match in front, Fiz left for India by chartered plane at 8 in the morning. The 27-year-old pacer will join the team after reaching India.
Mustafiz was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 2 crore in the auction in February last year. Posting a picture on his verified Facebook page, Mustafiz wrote, going to India for IPL 2023. Can't wait to join the Delhi Capitals family.
Mustafiz played 8 matches for Delhi last season. He took 8 wickets at an economy rate of 7.63. However, the pacer is not in that form this time. Playing 9 matches for the country this year, he managed to take only 4 wickets. It is a matter of thinking how much Fizz can burn if he gets a chance in such a situation.
Meanwhile, there is a high chance of Fiz getting a chance in the David Warner-led Delhi Capitals XI. Because as a foreign pacer in the team, his partner Anrich Norkia is playing for South Africa against the Netherlands. Therefore, the possibility of Mustafiz being in Delhi's XI is strong.
Meanwhile, it is still uncertain when Shakib-Litton will join Kolkata Knight Riders. However, it is assumed that they will catch the flight to India only after Bangladesh's only test match against the Irish in Mirpur. Earlier, Shakib was supposed to fly to India along with Mustafiz. However, BCB has not yet given clearance to Shakib-Litton.
