A.League leader's surrender in Eden student rape case
Awami League leader Monayem Hossain James has surrendered in the case of rape of a student of Eden College.
On Thursday (March 30), she surrendered and applied for bail in the court of Roksana Begum Happy, judge of Dhaka Women and Child Abuse Prevention Tribunal-2.

Earlier, on February 5, the victim college girl filed a case against Monayem Hossain James in Lalbagh police station, alleging rape.
It is mentioned in the statement of the case, Awami League leader Monayem Hossain James developed a love relationship with the plaintiff (college girl) while studying at Eden College. At one stage Monayem raped the plaintiff several times in a rented house in Rasul Bagh of Lalbagh as a lure for marriage. In this situation, when the plaintiff became pregnant, James forced her to abort the child. When the matter was told to James's father and brother, they also promised to marry, saying that they would spoil the child. Later on February 3, Monayem Hussain married another girl with James.
