This Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) told reporters after observing the overall security situation at the book fair on Tuesday (January 31).

- DMP Commissioner said, however, if any writer, publisher feels security risk due to insecurity and informs the police, they will be given additional security.
He said that there is no danger of any kind of terrorist attack around the fair. But we are not complacent.
Regarding provocative speech and writing, the DMP Commissioner said that no one should publish provocative books and write on social media. Our cyber unit will work. If the authors-publishers feel any kind of threat to come to the book fair, we will take action if they inform us.

Stating that all kinds of security measures have been taken at the book fair, the DMP Commissioner said that adequate measures have been taken so that the writers-readers and visitors do not feel any security risk.
DMP Commissioner said, 'CCTV cameras have been installed in the entire book fair and surrounding areas. Uniformed and plainclothes police personnel will be deployed. The police will be alert to control any situation.
Regarding security, he said, 'We have to enter the fair through the archway gate. There will be special police surveillance in the entire area. Booksellers can enter the fair from 10 pm to 7 am by car.
