A case has been filed against Prothom Alo editor Matiur Rahman under the Digital Security Act. The case has been registered at Ramna police station.

The case was reportedly filed on Wednesday night.  

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ramna Police Station Abul Hasan confirmed the case.  

According to the statement of the case, along with editor Motiur Rahman, Prothom Alo's own reporter Shamsuzzaman has also been accused in this case; Against whom the information of another case under the Digital Security Act was received yesterday at Khiogaon police station.  

According to the statement of the case, the plaintiff in the case is Advocate Abdul Malek (Mashiur Malek).

Controversy arose over a report made online by Prothom Alo on Independence Day last March 26. The report was made by Shamsuzzaman, Prothom Alo's own reporter working in Savar. Two cases have been filed with that report.

At around 4 am on Wednesday morning, there was an allegation that Prothom Alo's own reporter Shamsuzzaman was picked up from his rented house in Savar by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). He was picked up from Ashulia's rented house in Savar by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police, family and eyewitnesses were quoted as saying.

After that, for a long time, no government agency acknowledged the detention or arrest of Shamsuzzaman. However, this morning, the police sent him to the court after arresting him in the case of Ramna police station.
