Queen Mathilde of Belgium in Dhaka

Queen Mathilde of Belgium has arrived in Dhaka on a three-day visit. He has come to Bangladesh as an advocate (ambassador) of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

Mathilde Marie Christine was the first Queen of Belgium to visit Dhaka.

It is known that Mathilde came to Bangladesh as an ambassador of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

• Earlier, a notification issued by the Prime Minister's Office on January 30 announced the Queen's arrival. It is said that he will visit Bangladesh from February 6 to 8 as one of the 17 ambassadors assigned to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations Secretary General.

As the SDG ambassador, Queen Mathilde will look at girls' education, women's economic empowerment, the fight against domestic violence, Bangladesh's achievements in mental health and support in these areas.

• UN Secretary-General António Guterres' SDG advocacy by 17 prominent figures. These individuals will use their influence to raise global awareness.
  According to the information provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Queen of Belgium visited Bangladesh. Abdul Hamid will have a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The Foreign Minister is scheduled to host a dinner in honor of the Queen during her visit to Bangladesh.

According to the itinerary, Queen Mathilde will visit the Rohingya camp in Cox's Bazar, where she will interact with the women Rohingya refugees. Besides, he will go to Khulna. There you will visit a UNDP water sector project and talk to its beneficiaries. Mathilde will ask them how they are benefiting from the project.
