Pickup-CNG collision in Nandigram, 3 killed

The accident took place at Kunderhat bus stand area of Nandigram upazila on Bogra-Natore highway on Monday (March 13) around 8 am.
The deceased are autorickshaw driver Hefjul Islam (45), son of deceased Abu Taleb of Damgara village of Nandigram upazila. Abdul Alim (3), son of Tansen Ali of Omarpur village and Minhajul Islam (22), son of Sakhawat Hossain of Namuit village, student of Rajshahi City College.
Incharge (OC) Tofazzal Hossain said that on Monday morning, a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw with passengers was going to Bogra town from Nandigram. At this time, there was a head-on collision with a Natro-bound pickup van at the Kunderhat bus stand area. The autorickshaw overturned and three people including the driver were killed on the spot.
Six more people were injured in this accident. Among them, the driver and assistant of the pickup van and four passengers of the CNG-powered autorickshaw. Currently they are undergoing treatment at Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (SHJMEC) Hospital.
He also said that the fire service personnel rescued six injured people including the driver-helper of the pickup and sent them to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
