Motorcycle movement on Padma Bridge will remain closed: High Court
In this writ filed on January 12, the validity of the decision to stop the movement of motorcycles on the Padma Bridge was challenged
The High Court has dismissed the petition filed seeking directions for the movement of motorcycles on the Padma Bridge. Justice Md. Khasruzzaman and Justice Md. A High Court bench comprising Iqbal Kabir dismissed the writ as not having arisen. The lawyer for the writ was Yarul Islam.

Chairman of an organization called Bangladesh Republican Party Abu Hanif Hriday wrote this writ in public interest. He is a resident of Jatrabari. Earlier, this writ filed on January 12 challenged the validity of the decision to stop the movement of motorcycles on the Padma Bridge. In the writ, the secretary of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, Bangladesh Bridge Authority and the related parties were made defendants in the writ. On June 27 last year, the government announced a ban on motorcycles on the Padma Bridge. The matter was informed in an information report of the Directorate of Information on the night of June 26.

It is informed that motorcycle traffic will be off on Padma Bridge until further orders are given. First of all, a motorcycle accident occurred on the Padma bridge on the first day of traffic. It caused casualties. A video of this accident was spread on social media. In that video, it can be seen that the two are seriously injured and lying on the bridge.
