US very happy with RAB activities: Foreign Minister

The US has praised RAB's recent actions. But the country has not given any message about when the ban on RAB will be lifted. At the joint briefing after the meeting, in response to reporters' questions on the RAB issue, Lu said, there was a good discussion on the RAB. If you look at the latest report published by Human Rights Watch, there has been a lot of progress on extrajudicial killings. Human Rights Watch recognized, we recognized. Lots of good work done. They show respect for law enforcement and human rights. They are playing a positive role in preventing terrorism.

In this context, the foreign minister said, they said that they are very happy with the activities of RAB. When asked when the ban could be lifted, he said, they have not said anything about it. It's a process.

Momen said that there was a discussion about the election. Our hope is that we will choose transparent, beautiful, acceptable. They said many people complain a lot. We have said that your country also complains. 77 percent of your Republicans say you had a fake election. They say that there are some such people in our country. These will say something.

When asked whether the United States has given any advice on the election, he said, "No." As we have said, no country is a shoemaker. Your country (United States) is not the same. But we are trying. Regarding the GSP facility, Donald Lu said that some countries, including the European Union, are waiting for the GSP facility. We are awaiting approval from the US Congress. Bangladesh will get this benefit first when GSP Advantage starts.

When asked if the United States gave any advice, Lu said, "We are Americans." Always give good advice. We talked about labor rights. I am confident that we will make good progress in this regard this year. On the Indo-Pacific, Lu said, there was a good discussion. It's a strategy. It's not the club. Bangladesh will get more resources if it joins.

Regarding the discussion on the energy issue, the foreign minister said, I want their help in renewable energy. Wanted for further widening of coastal belt. I have sought their cooperation in this regard.
