Mirza Fakhrul admitted to Evercare Hospital
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has been admitted to Evercare Hospital in the capital. He was admitted to the hospital around 10:30 this Sunday morning.
BNP media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan told Dhaka Post that Mirza Fakhrul fell ill while in prison. After being released from jail on bail, he was admitted to hospital on doctor's advice.
In response to a question, Shayrul Kabir said that we cannot say how long he will stay in the hospital. His doctors can tell.
On December 7 last year, BNP leaders and activists clashed with the police in front of the BNP's central office in Nayapaltan of the capital. One person was killed and half a hundred people, including the police, were injured. After the clash, the police raided the BNP office at night. The next day, the police filed four separate cases in Paltan, Motijheel, Ramna and Shahjahanpur police stations. Two thousand 975 leaders and activists of BNP were accused in this. Names of 725 people are mentioned among them. The names of Mirza Fakhrul and Mirza Abbas were not there.

DB police picked up Fakhrul and Abbas from their respective homes late at night on December 8. The two were first taken to the DB office on Minto Road in the capital. The next day, they were arrested in Paltan police station case and sent to jail through the court.
They were released from the Keraniganj Central Jail on the evening of January 9 after a month of imprisonment.
