If attacked, Ukraine may join the war Belarus: Russia

If Kiev invades Russia or Belarus, Belarus may also join the war in Ukraine, Russian Foreign Ministry official Alexei Polishchak said. 

He said this in an interview with the Russian state news agency on Friday (January 13).

According to the Reuters report, since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, Russian troops have entered Ukraine using the territory of Belarus. And Russia has deployed joint forces in Belarus since last October.

Due to the closeness between the two countries, there are fears that Russia could use Belarusian territory to attack Ukraine.

Alexey said, if Ukraine's armed forces attack Russia or Belarus, it will be enough to respond collectively.

Meanwhile, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, also gave a warning about the fear of Belarus getting involved in the war. He instructed Ukraine to be ready on the border with Belarus.
