Prime Minister will inaugurate 50 more model mosques on January 16

An official of the Ministry of Religious Affairs said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate 50 model mosques along with the Islamic Cultural Center on January 16. The officer said that the Prime Minister will inaugurate these mosques and Islamic cultural centers virtually in the 2nd phase tomorrow, Monday around 11 am.

State Minister for Religion M Faridul Haque Khan said, inspired by the spirit of Islam and following the footsteps of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has prepared to build 564 model mosques across the country. Sheikh Hasina's leadership is setting a rare example in the history of the world by building 564 model mosques and Islamic cultural centers in every district and upazila across the country.

According to the ministry, the model mosques have air-conditioned separate rooms for ablution and prayers. Apart from this, there will be register and training system for Haj pilgrims, Imam Training Center, Research Center and Islamic Library, Autism Corner, Pre-Burial Ceremonies, Car Parking Facility, Heefzkhana, Pre-Primary Education and Holy Quran Teaching System, Islamic Cultural Conference Hall. There is also an Islamic dawat, an Islamic book selling center and a mosque along with 1 boarding facility for domestic and foreign guests.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina first inaugurated the 1st phase of 564 model mosques across the country on June 10, 2021. Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman established the Islamic Foundation and enacted the Islamic Foundation Act of 1975.

In line with Bangabandhu's ideology, the project also focuses on building a strong Islamic organizational structure by establishing mosques and Islamic cultural centers across the country.

According to the ministry, the mosques and Islamic cultural centers are located in the areas – Bhanga and Nagarkanda of Faridpur, Kapasia of Gazipur, Sadar Upazila of Gopalganj, Sadar and Katiadi of Kishoreganj, Ghior and Saturia of Manikganj, Sadar Upazila and Manohardi of Narsingdi, Goland and Zilla Sadar of Rajbari, Vedarganj Upazila of Shariatpur. , Dhunat and Nandigram of Bogra, Niamatpur Upazila of Naogaon, Baraigram Upazila of Natore, Sadar Upazila of Chapainawabganj, Bhangura of Pabna, Kazipur of Sirajganj, Rajshahi City Corporation, Gangachra and Kaunia of Rangpur, Sadar Upazila of Thakurgaon, Sherpur Sadar, Pirojpur Sadar, Brahmanbaria Sadar and Kasba, Khagrachhari. and Manikchari, Chandina and Chauddagram in Comilla, Rupsa in Khulna, Khoksha and Bheramara in Kushtia, Meherpur district headquarters and Gangni, Debhata in Satkhira, Goainghat in Sylhet, Sunamganj district headquarters and Jagannathpur and Chunarughat upazila in Habiganj district.
