The movie 'Shakunthalam' is based on poet Kalidasa's play 'Abhijyan Shakunthalam'. It stars Samantha in the lead role, while Southern actor Dev Mohan plays the role of Maharaja Dushmanta. Other important roles include Kabir Bedi, Prakash Raj, Aditi Balan, Gautami etc.
