Shahriar Haidari, a member of the National Security Affairs Committee in Iran's Parliament, told the country's domestic media outlet Tasnim News on Sunday.

Shahriar Haidari said that the Iranian New Year will begin on March 21. Within this period, Su-35 warplanes will arrive in Tehran from Russia. First of all, sophisticated helicopters, missile defense systems and other military equipment will arrive in Iran.
According to local media, Iran is buying 24 state-of-the-art twin-engine 4th generation fighter jets from Russia to enrich its air force.
These warplanes will be kept at Atab-8 (Tactical Air Base), the country's strategic military base in Isfahan, central Iran. Iran bought MiG-29 fighter jets from Russia in 1990. After that could not buy any modern fighter aircraft.
