Inauguration of Prime Minister's Scouts postponed for Vishwa Ijtema

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has postponed her scheduled program at the Bangladesh Scouts program in Gazipur on Saturday (January 21) to ensure smooth movement of pilgrims coming for the World Ijtema. Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary Hasan Zahid Tushar confirmed this information on Friday (January 20) evening.

The Prime Minister was scheduled to attend the 32nd Asia-Pacific and 11th National Scout Jamborees at Mouchak National Scout Training Center in Gazipur on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the second phase of Jagat Ijtema, one of the largest Muslim congregations in the world, has started on the banks of the Turag river in Tongir on Friday morning. This phase of the 56th edition of Biswa Ijtema was started by 'Am Bayan' after the Fajr prayer with the participation of a large number of worshippers. The first phase of Jagat Ijtema was held at the same place last January 13-15.
