Fire service personnel started working to bring the fire under control within a short period of time. Preliminary investigations revealed that the fire started from a disturbance in the original heating boiler of the building.
Officials said that the owner of the building was constructing and managing the nursing home without taking the approval of the concerned authorities. Legal action has already been taken against him.
The last major fire in Kemerovo was in 2018. A total of 60 people, including 37 children, died in a fire at a resort in the city.
