Fertilizer price increased by 5 rupees per kg
A letter has been sent to the Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture from the Ministry of Finance informing about the implementation of this new price from Monday (April 10). In view of the decision of the Ministry of Finance, instructions have been given at the field level to sell fertilizer at the revised price from the Ministry of Agriculture.
This information was informed in an order signed by Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture Hossain Ahmed on Monday.
It said that in the context of the ongoing global economic situation, due to the increase in the price of fertilizers in the international market, a decision has been taken to re-fix the price of fertilizers with a view to keeping the import at a rational level and ensuring its optimal utilization. It has been informed that the increase in the price of fertilizer will be effective from the date of issue of the order.
Before this, on April 3, at the Ministry's meeting room in the Secretariat, the Minister of Agriculture Dr. Abdur Razzak said that the price of fertilizers will not increase in the country in the coming years as in the past.
From now on at the dealer level, urea fertilizer should be bought at the rate of Tk 25, DAP Tk 19, TSP Tk 25, MOP Tk 18 per kg. At the farmer level, the price of urea per kg will be Tk 27, DAP Tk 21, TSP Tk 27 and MOP price will be Tk 20 per kg.
The Ministry of Agriculture said that this order will be effective from April 10.
