Father-in-law and Nanad arrested for murdering housewife by pouring kerosene on her
Father-in-law and Nanad killed their daughter-in-law by pouring kerosene on her in Mahiganj of Rangpur city for demanding the return of borrowed money. RAB has arrested father-in-law and Nanad in this sensational incident.
Commander Arafat Hossain, the captain of RAB-13 Rangpur, gave this information in a press conference at RAB-13 Rangpur headquarters on Wednesday (April 12) at 11 pm.
It is known that Salma Begum, the wife of Swapan Mia of Mahiganj, lent 10,000 taka to her aunt. Later on March 24, he asked for a refund. A family dispute started over this. Due to an argument on March 28, father-in-law Akhter Hossain and Nanad Aleya Begum entered the house of housewife Salma Begum and after beating her, poured kerosene oil on her and set her on fire and closed the door from outside.
Meanwhile, the locals rescued him and first admitted him to the burn unit of Rangpur Medical College Hospital and later to the Sheikh Hasina Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in Dhaka. Salma died there on March 31 after fighting with death for five days.
Commander Arafat Hossain said that after this incident, others including father-in-law and father-in-law covered their heads. Later, on Wednesday, the main accused in the case, Akhtar Hossain, the main accused, and the second accused, Nanad Aleya Begum, were arrested from Phulbari in Mymensingh. In the initial interrogation, they confessed to the murder. They will be taken into police custody at Mahiganj police station on Thursday morning.
