Mongla EPZ fire control, 4 member investigation committee formed

The fire at VIP-1 in Mongla EPZ was brought under control after 16 hours. 11 units of the fire service brought the fire under control at around 8:30 am on Wednesday.

However, smoke can still be seen from some parts. Now dumping is going on.

Meanwhile, VIP factory official Ashish Kumar Karmakar claimed that the fire caused a loss of Tk 150 crore.

  VIP luggage factory official. Mizan said at 10 pm on Tuesday, now the fire is under control. Members of the fire service are still working to put out the fire completely. It may take another two hours. There is no danger of the fire spreading.
  Even then, if the fire is extinguished, the floor will be searched, he said. Meanwhile, the EPZ authorities have formed a 4-member investigation committee into the fire incident.

However, the concerned authorities believe that the fire may have started due to electrical short circuit or gas welding on that floor.

Executive Director of EPZ Mahbub Ahmed Siddique said that the fire is not fully extinguished but is now under control. 11 units of fire service are still working. He also confirmed that no one was injured in the fire.
