Electricity price will be adjusted every month: Nasrul Hamid

From now on, electricity prices will be adjusted every month, said Nasrul Hamid, Minister of State for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources.

He inaugurated the 14th DRMC-Summit National Science Fair-2023 at Dhaka Residential Model College in the capital on Friday (January 27) morning. The state minister said this in response to a question from journalists after the inauguration ceremony.

He said, we have said that every month we will make some adjustments. That is what is going on now. Every month we will adjust it little by little.

• Many people run pumps throughout the day for irrigation in many places. We have fixed a time. During this period you will use electricity for irrigation. But in some places there are problems with it. It's not a problem, we're fixing it. Overall the situation will be better, especially from next month.

Regarding the increase in gas prices, the state minister said that the gas prices have been determined in coordination with the world market. Our goal is to arrange how we can supply gas uninterruptedly from April. We hope to be able to provide Bhola gas within the next one-two months.
